Exciting approach to catching bottom fish species.
Technique - Simply drop the jig to the bottom, wind 1/3 up very slowly with the odd twitch. Drop again. Then repeat. When you see the fish bite, do not set the hook. Keep reeling in slowly until you feel the fish has hooked themselves.
Alternatively drop and drag on the bottom with the odd twitch while the boat is drifting
